READ

Amazon and technology notwithstanding, there will always be folks (like us!) who treasure the glorious heft of a book, and an indie bookstore in which to browse. With the June opening of Bookbinders in Willits, fans of the written word have a new spot in which to peruse and purchase everything from bestsellers, classics and cookbooks to tomes dedicated to garden design, wellness and kids’ lit—there’s even a section of Spanish-language books for adults. Owner Catherine Maas—whose family runs the WJWJ Ranch in Emma, home of Mountain Primal Meat Co.—has provided a refined yet cozy space (cushy chairs included) and thoughtfully curated selection of reads; special orders on request. Visit BookbindersBasalt.com for upcoming events and details on monthly book club meetings.
