Art at Work
Elsewhere Studios, a Paonia-based artists’ residency program, will conclude two months of socially engaged arts with an “Inspired: Art at Work” Symposium August 24–26 at Paradise Theater and other venues. Featured artists including Tanya Blacklight, Christine Palafox, Clara Pena, Anna Macleod and John Melvin will showcase their work to encourage dialogue and shift polarized perceptions regarding economic prosperity and appropriate development to preserve sense of place, particularly with regard to local food culture. National and local speakers include Robin Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass and Woody Tasch of Slow Money. Visit ElsewhereStudios.org for tickets.
