History scholar and performer Kim Nuzzo presents a Chautauqua-style character performance of gonzo journalist and 1970’s Pitkin County Sheriff candidate, Hunter S. Thompson. In honor of this summer’s Freak Power exhibit, the performance will channel Thompson’s eccentric character for glimpse into the notorious Woody Creeker’s life. The event will finish with a screening of High Noon at Aspen, a 30-minute documentary on the sheriff’s race, produced by BBC in 1970.
