Living in the mountains can be challenging—especially for the home cook in search of specialty kitchen tools and housewares. If you’re in need of a Dutch oven or a fuse for your waffle maker, then there is a great solution mid-valley for high-quality cooking electronics, bakeware, glassware, linens and gadgets: Kitchen Collage.

Since opening in 1996 in Riverwalk at Edwards and battling through the recession after opening in Willits in Basalt in 2009, Kitchen Collage has become the go-to store for local gourmands, gift -seekers and those who find browsing through kitchen, entertaining and home decorating items on par with guided meditation.

Stepping into the Basalt store, guests are struck with the charm and selection. The breadth of selection perhaps can be attributed to the buying power behind the two locations, and the ability to house surplus items at its product warehouse near Edwards.

If you’re looking for something special and can’t find it on the shelves, one of the knowledgeable aproned retail associates will do what they can to find it in the warehouse, transfer it from its sister store or order it to be delivered to your desired store location. The store has a selection of locally made food products which are sampled daily, and services on tap like knife sharpening and a bridal registry. The registry is one of the store’s most popular services. Registered couples receive a $25 gift card and 10% off the completion of select multiple item requests once the wedding has passed.

Kitchen Collage shines, particularly during the holiday season, when it becomes a shopping mecca for high-quality table linens, place settings, decorative dishes, serving utensils and popular cookbooks. With brands like Spiegelau, Wüsthof, April Cornell and Emile Henry, the quality of its offerings is matched only by the ambition of the home chefs who seek them out.
